I always told my boy :
father is working so hard for us, that's why I can be with you all day.
pls welcome him when father back home.

so everynight when my hubby back, we greet him loundly :
welcome father back home~
like japanese resturant.
hubby once said we are too commercial..

I would leave some particalar snack for father and son. " wait father home and share with you.''
and if my boy ask to take bus or mtr, I alwasy say:
'' wait daddy's holiday and we'll go then.''
