I don't eat beef ga ma, so my choice of what to put in the soup is even more limited.
I used to like 'law sung tong' in fastfood shop a lot when i was young ~ the colour is so orange with lots of MSG... but not anymore lu.
Yes, do soup with chicken is ok as well and i will just buy chicken thigh to do it as I don't have a good chopper at home to chop up the whole chicken...that's why i want you to tell me how to do coconut-chicken soup lor. Ta ta.

U know chinese usually use pork to boil soup! Maybe you can use chicken if u think it is boring. Have u tried 'Law sung tong' u can use beef in this kind of soup and if you like a bit spicy, u sh ...
forgot to answer about papaya, I just use those from normal British supermarkets. It is still quite sweet. U can add carrots + papaya (more papaya than carrots to make the taste more dominant) + ...
I think hubby tried it before as well and of course he didn't like it la...they don't know what they are missing and I am 'happy' as he won't fight with me for the food I like
Did martin try chicken claw/feet? Mine did and he liked the sauce but not the actual claw/feet.
Wow...you're in size 6! But I tell you what: I was once in size 8 and I felt like I can be blown away by strong wind anytime. Now...I think I'm a size 8-10 and all of my pants are losing...and I tried some of the size 8 clothes I have kept for many years and they fit me again lor (but no chance to wear them now as they're formal work clothes). I've got many new tops/buttoms HK the year b4 as a size 12-14 and I don't think they fit me now...no money to change wardrobe ah...mouth: mouth: mouth:

Interestingly, i have dried longan at home ah...sent from HK geh! I don't really trust the quality of these things in chinese supermarket here. My family send me all these stuffs but my mum always tends to give me too much and still thinks it is a small bag only and thinks I will finish it in no time...
Silly question again, once you break up the coconut, do you put the juice into the soup as well? Is it ok to add 'keizi' (the red little berry-like thing, good for the eyes geh lei)???

Do u have dried longan at home? Is the chinese grocery shop in your town sell dried longan and suet yee?
Hello pigpig!
Carlos came down with fever as well, it's the second day already and we're trying to fight it thro' using the almighty Calpol ~ no use to go to a GP, as you know... Anyway, hope Gabi gets better soon!
I think Sg is very much like HK in terms of childcare and preschool activities, everything is $$$, so I'm not surprised you have to pay this price for a playgroup session. However, I would expect these playgroups would be more organised with proper learning activities lor, not like Carlos' toddlers' group where they just provide the toys and venue and 1 or 2 staff to be around, you just show up and play with your kid yourself.
Good luck with the interview and keep in touch ah!!
