Working experience is important, but working in HK previously is not a must. It's my filipino helper's first time to be in HK, but she worked in taiwan for 5 years. So she can speak mandarin, cantonese and english. She also learned how to cook chinese food there, so she's a very good cook too. 唔駛講其他餸,淨係火腿蛋治都可以煎到糖心雞蛋咁,好食過茶餐廳.
I went to the agent and applied for the helper on the first week of September, 2007. I said I wanted the helper in early November, because I would give birth in Mid December. In fact, my helper was ready to come in early November, but my husband and I eventually asked her to come on Nov. 26 instead.
So, basically you just have to wait 1 & a half month to 2 months only.
