it depends on where u are working and the transportation cost is. lunch can be as expensive as $1xx in Central. but if u work in factory area, can buy lunch box set at $2x.
i used to work in central, average cost for lunch is $70. transportation cost is $20/d. so total is over $2000 (25d expenses).
when i first started to join the work force, I tried to control myself to use only $700 each week, but I couldn't.
bring your lunchbox lor! i brought lunch box sometimes when I was in labour force. saves a lot of $ ga. then u don't even need to spend a dollar if u don't buy anything.
sometimes I had $10 wanton noodles takeaway from Wanchai tim. But on average $70-1xx because sometimes had $2xx-3xx lunch. I don't enjoy eating, but going to nice places for lunch can chat for a longer time with friends and colleagues.
one of my sister's friend is very 慳. Pizza Hut is already a luxury to her. She works in one of the biggest accountant firms, salary is not low. She can buy a 2.6m flat just within a few years without the help of anyone.
I am now a full-time mum, rarely go out, so 1k is enough for food and transportation. My biggest 開支 is losses in stock every mth.
