I've done laser by doctor, too. Did your doctor take photos for you ? My doctor has a camera which can take photo deep inside your skin, so the doctor can identify the cause of the freckles. Then he will use different machine to remove different kinds of freckles.
Luckily mine is only too much sun exposure, after removing it. I can still keep it quite good, but you have to be 'good' girl to keep applying 'sunscreen' every 2-3 hours if you are outdoor.
