can you read and write chinese tho?
I use this (http://www.cantoneseinput.com/) to input Chinese.
It's a bit slower compare with other input methods but it works well for me
CT, thanks for sharing! I'll give the link a try. At times when I badly need to get my message across at the HK BK forum, I'll use Google Translate to compile my posts in Chinese. Wow, so inefficient -- it usually takes me probably 20 mins for a short post.

Do you know how to input by 台灣拼音(漢語拼音)或者 普通話拼音?
If you do and you have any kind of MS operation system, you can easily copy the Lang pack and select one of the above chinese input method to input chinese.
Just a side note, windows (I tried on an English win XP few yr ago) also has the option for the Chinese handwriting as well (you need to have admin right). You can use the mouse to "handwrite" the Chinese characters and then pick from the list that come up.

My husband got me the writing pad from Wal-mart, well, of course for non-Chinese they use it for drawing.

NDW, thank for very much for all those suggestion. I've almost given up on typing Chinese input. Not easy because I have no foundation on Mandarin pinyin and Cantonese romantization. But I'll give it one more try... going to get the writing pad as suggested by Bunnymonkey and Cookingmama.
Hey, you know what?... not a silly excuse, but I see the good of giving up on Chinese input... I've saved LOTS OF TIME not going to the HK BK!!!

You can try wenxuecity.com 文學城,他們有不同的論壇,親親寶貝、子女教育etc。there are lots of folks there in the bay area but mostly mainlanders who live in the N. America. There is another bay area forum 好像叫「大手拉小手」,but I forgot the link now.
