Her paid leave entitlement is 7 days for the 1st year, another 7 days for the 2nd year. If she has completed more than 3 months of service, she is entitled to paid leave and the number of days is calculated on basis of 7 days for 1st year. While her paid leave refers only to her working day, she is entitled for pay on statutory holiday and day off during the period of leave.
This is arguable. From my view, she is not entitled. For a maid who finishes the 2 yr contract, they r only entitled to 2 days of traveling and HKD100 allowance per day. For ur case, if the maid goes home 10 times during this period (no matter paid or unpaid), u need to pay her 20 days of traveling? If does not make sence, rite?
I think this can be avoided if you had discussed with her before she left.
Pay her full day or continuous negotiation. If I were you, I would just settled (only some $60 for half day), save the time and relax. You may take this as a lesson learnt.
Your helper is smart though - she did some housework when you came back.
