各位媽咪,
Amanda 老師打算要Amanda 學Suzuki, so, 佢要我哋幫Amanda買piano.. 因為keyboard 學壞手勢(其實Amanda只用新買嗰個casio 6星期).
校長叫我哋賣咗個keyboard.. 買一部2手 10左右嘅琴 either made in Koear or made in Japan ..
你她有冇好介紹..
我哋7月就要買到琴.. 好頭痛

We have one at home ar. It was for my husband's sister, only she never touched since she turned 17. My 99 has been wanting to sell it. Let me ask more info for u.

Even if she doesnt want to sell it now, my best fd teach piano too. I will ask her for u ^_^

So, what should I aware of.. when I go and search for the 2nd hand piano?
Principle said that we should not buy new one, because Amanda needs to change piano over period of time.
she asked us to find some about USD$1200-1700 for about 10 years.. piano made in Korea and Japan will be good.. so which brand should I look for??

問左99。初步佢話依家又唔想賣住﹐ 話要留俾Pariis。不過我會再同佢傾下﹐ 因為Pariis仲細﹐ 點知將來會唔會想學﹖ 唔學唔可以逼。 The one we have is Yamaha。

另外我仲問緊個朋友﹐ 佢部係Bowen﹐ 2手買﹐ 好少彈﹐ 如果今晚問過個仔話捨得﹐ 就會賣。佢話如果父母本身唔識琴既野﹐ 又冇內行人一齊﹐ 好難話注意D咩。佢當時就帶埋個仔一齊﹐ 個仔堅持鍾意Bowen聲雄“渾”D。買時$1500。佢話去Flushing﹐ Main Street 夾 Northern BLVD 樂器店有2手鋼琴賣。 I think I know which one she's talking about, but I don't remember the name. If I go to Flushing tmr, I check it out for u. 另外佢話﹐ 舊款琴有時好過新款﹐ 因為做琴既物料唔同。

And I asked my fd who teaches piano. Those piano in her shop, can go as cheap as 3000, made in China tho. She doesn't know any students of her want to sell piano right now, but she will keep an eye for me.

今朝上完堂, 校長話Amanda 要買琴lu.. 俾佢揀過, either 2 手名廠, or Ebay 買新琴 (also USD$1800).

今日要去買琴書..
校長made sehedule 叫Amanda next spring 考level 1... 我話會唔會太急?? 佢話either next spring or fall 就一定考.. otherwise, Amanda會變番個普通人.. 6歲前要不停谷喎.. 咁咪好似填鴨??

u dont need a super fancy one like steinway or baldwin. the one i have now is just a made in china one baby grand but u really need to go and listen and try to do a sound comparison. i wont suggest getting it from ebay. if you r gonna get a 2nd hand i would stick with yamaha. i used to have a stand up yamaha and it's very good quality and could last for years. and try making them including free tunings. tunings could easily go up to a hundred bucks each time.

We found one.. Kawai.
and it will deliver to us on this Friday, Fat bear will take a day off for the piano delivery.
we bought it from a mom who just divorce, and she doesn't wanna keep it.
a Kawai upright.. Amanda loves it very much.. and it is affordable as well..

老師要佢用 suzuki, note reading. 同level 1 exam 3本書一齊.. Amanda就好enjoy.. 我就一個頭兩個大..?!?

Other than Yamaha and Kawai, what do you guys think about Fischer and sons and Henry Miller? I found a brand new Fischer and sons for $1999 & brand new Henry Miller for $3599 ... I can't make a decision!

u r lucky to get a new piano for under $2000 but i am curious about the quality...the easiest way is to bring someone who could play the piano to test them out. If I were you i would stick with Henry Miller jmho.

a new brand called suzuki .. sold online by Ebay.. is only USD$1,799.

I listened to the Fischer and sons ... it is not too bad. Unfortunately, when I tried to find some more information online, it seems that is not a very common brand ... actually had you ever heard that breand? But what make me consider about that because of the price and the store said I can trade in the piano in the future and get 100% value go to the next piano purchase. I'm still 心大心細.

most of them have the buy-back option. i am not sure if you r gonna move the piano once you have it in your house though haha..cuz it's so heavy and they probably would charge at least a thousand dollar just to move it.

this kinda unknown brands are mostly made in china brand with a german brandname. i personally have a made in china (young chang- Bergmann) baby grand and I paid over 7k for it so i am not totally against the made in china piano. some have good qualities too. have u tried comparing the sound quality with the henry miller one? can u tell the difference? if there's no big difference and u have to stick with your budget then u could go for it but ask them to give you some tunings. if u have extra $, then pick something in the 3k range. learning piano is not like sports u have to pratice everyday and it's very time consuming. make sure your kid is ready before getting a big furniture at home.

i know suzuki is a method of violin teaching. i guess now it becomes a piano brand too...us teachers tend to go too easy on the kids. andrew learned for a couple years and i asked himto quit since i disagree with the way they teach.. but anyway, i would like to look for one that goes for the royal school of music exam.

More option for me ah (my head getting bigger now)… I found another good deal yesterday. A brand new Weber WLE480 for $2700. What do you think about this one? I’m ok with a “made in China” piano since most of the affordable brand new are from China nowadays … kinda no choice.

Ha ha … I think my son is not ready for this big furniture … he will become 1 yr old next Monday. However, we would like to have this big furniture at home for him as a toy to play with, make him feel playing piano is interesting, then start his lesson few years later. That’s the reason I don’t want a very good/expensive piano now.

weber is I think another split of young chang just like my bergmann at a more affordable price. go for it ! again, make them including some tunings in the future. I'm longing for a grand piano when i went for piano exam when i was a kid...they have the most amazing yamaha grand with superb look and sound...i think they r going for over $14k, i could only afford a made in china one at half the price too haha.. your son is so young..well....although mozart is already composing at 4, =p maybe you could learn to play some songs for him at the moment =)
