點樣知道個hard-disk就死？

由於我有d/l BT,呢幾日部機耐不時出現"支支聲",點樣可以check到個hard-disk就死？

My harddisk is just dead on last friday. All my data loss, and I only have a back up in May. :cry:

Before it dead, it has some sound "Cee Cee". Now, I buy a new harddisk to operate my PC. The old one still sound "Lok Lok". Shumshuipo shops said $600 to fix it. Could it be fixed? Or, forget it? :cry:

Just forget it. $600 Can buy another harddisk for backup

harddisk就好似人咁，有人可以一病不起，有人可以不藥而瘉。所以預防勝於治療！可以的話，行RAID-1，唔係就每星期行一次BACKUP，而家HARDDISK咁平，買多隻都係幾百蚊。如果唔識吉HARDDISK，可以買多個USB BOX，都係幾十蚊。

Remember if you use the PC very often, no matter it's for Internet browsing, word processing, audio video editing or BT..., make sure you keep a habit of defrag harddisk regularly to keep it in top conditions.

I don't know why many people say BT harms harddisk. It's not totally true! Today's harddisks are designed for prolong read/write. Also, many softwares, e.g. video editings, do a lot of read/writes just like BT software. If you don't keep your harddisk in good shape, e.g. defrag regularly, then running any software will just shorten its life.

我個hard-disk儲左好多囝囝相，點樣可以每星期一次backup？

i am using XP, can anyone kindly instruct me how to do the defrag the hard disk ? and how to instal the extra haed disk please !! :mrgreen:

Start->Run, then type in "diskmgmt.msc"
