我個印印,she said she can speak both English + Cantonese during interview. My agent also said that her English is better than Cantonese. However, from day one until now (almost 3 months) she still only speak cantonese. I try to talk to her in english but she reply to me in cantonese. I seriously tell her that i want my daughter learn more english and ask her to pretend don't know cantonese in front of my daughter. She said ok ok.....but remain unchange.....big big headache ar......what should i do ar????
My maid does not know english, but she needs to bring my bb to playgroups, clinics, etc and all the people there talk to her in english.
She understands that she needs to learn english to secure her job.
Now she attend english classes every sun and try to talk to my bb in english.
But actually I don't need her to speak english cos her punctuation is not correct.e.g. she confuses pig and big.
Just an advice if you don't mind, I think the best way for bb to learn are from the parents. My friend told me either the daddy or mum communicate with the bb in english throughout the day instead of we translate the sentences from cantonese to english, the bb will learn english well.
