I'm still using the old health card right now (red & white), but gov't send me letter to ask me to change to new one.......actually they sent me 2 letters to remind changing of new health card, but i still haven't done it yet!

But some of my friends told me I MUST do it, otherwise gov't has right to cancel my health benefit, it that true?

maybe u'll receive it later........coz some of my fds still haven't rec'd it yet.

but my sister also rec'd this letter(same period as me), & she changed it already.......i think gov't do it group by group (depends when did ur old health card issued gwa).......anybody know abt it?????????

the changing are on stage - depends on the age of the card holder. especially for the teenager. they will have it change when they reach 18 age.. but some senior..doesnot need to. for people in the middle age. they will wait till they reach 5 or 10 (eg. 45, 50, 55 etc) that's just my observation, as most of my friends have their health card changed at either 45 or 50

me too!! i also received 2 letters as well, received the second letter about 2 months ago. still haven't changed it yet, it seems SUCH A HASSLE!!! have to do it in person, and the location is SO OUT OF MY WAY!!!

but my annual check up is coming up soon (next month!!) don't know if i must need to renew it b/4 my checkup.

any one in the same situation???

my 66 got the health card with the expiry date on. and he needs to see the doctor just few days after the expiry date.
the docto accept the old card, but saying once 66 got the new card, need to provide the information to the doctor's office.

one month after , doctor office called to check if 66 got the new health card, as they need the new health card nubmer for the claim submission.

but for your case, not sure , as the old (red and white ) health card does not have the expiry date, so not user if the doctor office could still submit the claim - or even they submit the claim, the OHIp will reject as their file record show you need to renew the card. just my thought

thx doggie..........but me & my sister not in age of x0 or x5 lo, so i think gove't change it phase by phase, depends on when the old card had been issued.

hi bobbie, i think we can still use it gwa........as we only rec'd 2 letters (1 is reminder letter), i think they'll issue at least 2-3 reminder letters lo..........mouth:
