Really, the landlord have every right to claim you the $$ you own him/her over the 死約 period, that is, the 2 remaining months.
DO NOT GIVE BACK THE KEY TO THE AGENT, as it is non of their business, so never do that.
會吾會有手尾跟.. some possibilities:
1. Owner will claim through small claim tribunial for the remaining rent..
2. Owner might report your inform to organisation such as 香港業主會, who claim to keep a list of Blacklisted Tentant. But persoanlly, i think 香港業主會 is useless.
really, it is better to discuss the issue with your landlord, and hopefully, they can be understanding and let you go. For me, i always let my tentant go if they are facing problems, as really, there is no point "chasing" them for rent (as they are facing problems).
