Depends on where u visit, we will drive to the coastal area and stay till late, will bring jacket with hood. May only bring one to two short sleeves, mainly thin long sleeves

Just came back, great place!
We stayed in Melbourne for 4 nights. Joining local tour for 2 days and stayed in the city for the whole time. Except Philip island, we just worn short sleeve t-shirt and thin long pants with a thin jacket in backpack. We need to wear hoodie in Philip island as we stayed until 10pm. Hope it helps.
Since your child is young, I recommend you to bring a mixture of short sleeve and long sleeve t shirts + hoodie + thin down jacket. Remember to bring sunscreen

Many thanks! I also think of the mixture that you mention. I guess mainly wearing thin long-sleeve t-shirt & long pants. Of Coz, I will bring one set for keeping warm. Coz we may go to Philips island as well. Except Philips island, where u join the tour? We may join two more tour: mornington penisular for strawberries farm; great ocean road (may only husband & I).
We went to Healesville Sanctuary (wildlife) because my son likes animals. I know Mornington Peninsula is great.
We only spent 4 nights in Mel and another 4 nights in Hobart where we jointed tours to Wineglass Bay and also another one to wildlife park to see the animals.
