I think, the doctor meant transvaginal ultrasound scan but not colposcopy examination, which is usually done for abnormal cervical smear or suspected cervical problems. If you need such colposcopy examination, there is no point waiting for a few months. Transvaginal ultrasound needs to have an ultrasound probe putting inside your vagina, there would see the ovaries more clearly. Please confirm with your doctor.
