我個b有黐利根，同佢睇過外科醫生話要兩歲先可以同佢做手術，因為要麻醉喎！你睇左醫生未呀？係喎！"利"根過長有咩影響呀？

My bb also 有黐利根. I discovered my own as I hear his voice not clear. And I used cotton buds to 'LIU' under his tongue then discovered.

As he has cleft lip (rabbit lip) so he just did operation this Tuesday, also fix the 黐利根, I think fix it at 2 years old is too late as they need to learn how to speak again.

其實我都覺得兩歲先做手術好似遲左d，但個外科醫生又話要大d先好，健康院d醫生就話要睇有冇影響佢講埋先喎！你個bb幾大阿？你睇開個醫生會唔會幫幾個月d bb個手術架？可以介紹我嗎？d醫生會點樣同bb做埋個手術架？...唔好意思有禁多問題添...

Hi sjlam, 兩歲先做手術really遲bor, 我個醫生話幾個月BB要做lah, 因為大d要麻醉喎…we have consulted 2 doctors, one said BB "利"根過長 but another one said no problem....we are thinking to consult one more doctor...I think "利"根過長 is same as 黐利根. By the way, how did you find out your BB is 黐利根?

Both my sons are "癡利根". Don't know if it is the same as "利"根過長. My elder son is now 3 years old and he can speak very well. My younger son is 3.5 months old and cannot speak yet. Their doctor said "癡利根" would not affect their speaking. So do nothing...

Thanks ZhuZhuMa for your sharing. I think "利"根過長 is same as 黐利根. May I ask, if 黐利根doesn't affect speaking, what's the problem of having 黐利根? Did your doctor suggest any operation?

我個b都係呀
佢三個月大去個兒科醫生度食輪狀口服果時醫生話佢條脷根都有少少長，但醫生話佢7-8個月大果時可以做個小手術就解決到
個醫生仲話唔做的話佢講廣東話係完全冇問題
只係到時如果講國語/英文要卷脷ge音就發唔到囉
個醫生話個小手術可以係佢醫務所做
但我都搵緊d資料，有冇其他媽咪係同小朋友做過可以分享下

could you pls tell me that name of 你個兒科醫生....we want to check 1-2 more兒科醫生 before making decision as to go for operation or not.

The doctor just informed us that the babies' tongues had the issue of 黐利根, (which is from their father side - 遺傳). The doctor said this didn't mean anything relate to speaking....Conclusion: 黐利根唔等於有問題. The doctor said there was no operation needed. He told us the issue because he wanted to make sure we understood that there was no problem. The doctor's clinic is in MongKok Centre and he is a good and experienced 兒科 doctor. If you need a second opinion, you may PM me for the address and name.
