見到有D10分既學校，API scores 仲低過9分學校，點解會咁既？
究竟API scores 定ranking 可靠D呢？

greatschool 係公開由家長評分，讀得開心又點會俾得低分？api score 係考試分，唔係高分就代表係好學校，兩樣嘢嚟，只要老師識教，針對協試同學生做練習就會高分，唔代表學生真係識，所以兩者只能作參考。選學校要睇成績，老師質素，教學理念，環境，睇下自己想要嘅係唔係學校俾到，學校要求仔女是否適合，都係果句，要自己去睇去感受，絕對冇不間學校係完美，適合所有人。

To answer your question, API score is just the average score for the students who had taken the STAR test (annual standardized test for public schools in CA). But the ranking from Greatschools.org is not just based on academics! You'll have to find out what the ranking is based on.

Usually the public schools in CA rely more on the parents/tutors to spend more time with the kids after school, unless the kids are more disciplined and are self-learners! You can tell the public schools with higher API scores usually have parents who are more educated or care more about their kids' academics! So you can say that the public schools with higher API scores might offer better peer group for your kids but not necessarily the teachers there are better.

For example, my friend is a public school teacher and I know that most teachers there are good teachers. However, their API score is in the 800+ only, just because most parents there are more uneducated and don't even know much English!
