But I think if you are able to give her 1 month notice, i.e. give her termination letter on Aug1 and also submit renewal contract to immigration, and then can wait until at least Sept1 to officially terminate, you don't need to pay this noticce payment.
I think the govt is really thinking with their 'pat pat'. They can just tell everyone to stop paying for 2 years. Instead, they chose to flood themselves with paperwork of early-renew contracts and they lose 47 months of payment instead of 24 months.
Why do they make a simple thing so complicated? We have to do a lot of paperwork, so do they. Why not just tell all with notices to pay stop paying for 2 years.
In HK, there are a couple of hundreds thousands employers, so potentially the immigration will have to renew these xxx,xxx contracts? Stupid, and what a pity to immigration.
