I'm trying to look for a summer program for my kid in Macau. Specifically I'm more interested in Sheng Kung Hui, but I wasn't able to find any info. on their web site.

Anybody knows if there are summer programs available at Sheng Kung Hui ... ?

Hi, SY_Mom,

How r u? R u coming with your kid to Macau this Summer?

I think SKH might have summer program this year but i think this is only for their students.

thanks for your info.

yes, i'm thinking to bring my kid to Macau this summer if he can be enrolled at a summer program there. otherwise, it might not worth it to come back as it's very hot in summer in Macau.

hopefully SKH will take non-SKH students for their summer program if spaces are available. otherwise, maybe we can enroll our kid into their regular program for next Fall; then he can go to their summer program and we withdraw him for Fall. does it work that way? assume that they have space available for grade 1 in Fall, the application process is not that complicated and the non-refundable enrollment fee is not too expensive.

thanks for the info.

i'd looked at the TIS summer program last year. however, i heard the peer groups at TIS are not very good. don't want my kid to pick up the bad things such as bad language from other kids there.

Of course u can do it. You better check with the office first b4 you come, and see if there's space available. You can either ring them or send them an email.
I thought there are so many summer programmes in the US and Canada. I remember one time my daughter wanted to bring her daughter to Canada to attend some summer programmes....

yes, there are so many summer programs in here. however, i'd consider bringing my kid back to Macau for summer, becoz i want him to learn Chinese and i can also spend more time with my family there.

I think besides of the summer program in SKH, you need to find some other activities for him like we do every year, becoz the summer program there is only 2 hours a day and 5 days a week.

i remember there are summer activities organized by the Education Dept. in Macau when i was a kid. don't know if there are still that kind of things now and if non-Macau residents can participate.

if he can stay for about a month in Macau this summer, hopefully i can apply for a Macau ID for him. do you know if it's possible?

Sorry for the late reply.
Yes, the Educ. Dep. organizes many summer activities for the kids every year, but i have no idea if the non-residents can apply or not. Sometimes they don't even have enough spaces for the Macau residents. You can go to their website and check before u come.
For the Macau ID, you can also check from their website or send them an email and ask about it.
