I bought a Nokia 5800 on 24th Dec 08 as a X'mas present for my husband. On 10th Jan 09 (just two week later), the phone's started volume problems. Sometimes can't hear incoming call at all. I called the Nokia Hotline and demanded change a new phone. They refused and suggested I can bring the phone to their Care Centre. I went to Mongkok on 17th Jan and waiting for an hour. The staff said a speaker has been changed. Two days later the same problem appeared.
I called the Hotline immediately and this time they said they can arranged a new phone but need to wait for couple weeks. I went to Mongkok Nokia Care centre again on 1st Feb and waiting for another hour, they gave a different phone, I had never seen a box/ new package, but they insist it's a new phone. So I took it home. On the same evening as soon as my husband inserted his simcard in and start to use, the phone keep downloading 'podcast' and couldn't stop by pressing any button, we can only pull the battery out to stop it. So I called the useless Hotline again, I demanded a full refund but they refused. The manager Mr Tong said Nokia company policy can not do a refund, they can only arrange another "new' phone for replacment.
What kind of 'customer service' is this horrible NOKIA mobile phone company giving to customer???? I bought this phone for almost $4000, only used for two weeks! And I've already spent $1xxx to buy another phone for my husband to use. For this useless NOKIA 5800 I've been to their CARE CENTRE for two times and endless complaint phone call. Now I am still awaiting for 2-3 weeks for the 'NEW' phone from their factory. At the beginning they said the warranty will be date back from 24 Dec 08 for the replacement. I said your mobile phone never work properly why I lost 3 month out of a year warranty?? (The phone so far has been used only two weeks!!)
So everyone please have a second thought if you want to buy a Nokia mobile phone!
