I check from the google map that it takes around 35mins to drive from Mansfield to Springfield lakes. I wonder if this estimated time is realistic.

係啦, 我睇brisbane的租盤, 有D屋好似唔係間間房都有冷氣, 有些好似連風扇都無咁. 其實係brisbane多唔多日子需要開冷氣的呢? 係咪大部份人都慣用自然風的呢?

35min to 40mins, depends how deep inside springfield. Motorway drive and speed camera trap.... careful careful.

I would suggest you no need to defer 1 yr as they will pick up english very fast. Also most state school have English as Second Language (ESL) to help your kids to do homework, repeated what teacher taught, practise english 1:1 etc to help your kids up to speed. Some are the teacher is asian so they will use the same language to translate to your kids so they at least understand what they are learning etc.

YOu only needs to worry they forget chinese very fast .....

My house has 3 air conds, non of them used in this year.

Possibly because my house has roof insulation, window tinting etc to keep the heat out.

Electricity is expensive, don't let your kids get used to air conds.

Springfield is under development, in future will have university (not sure it is private one or not), railway, the biggest shopping town etc.

Hard to suggest which suburb suit you unless you feel by yourself.

我地無選擇去sydeny因為我同我老公同比較喜歡靜，sydney對於我地來說係一個非常熱鬧的城市同香港差不多。其實我老公喜歡perth，我喜歡canberra，但無耐兩度都好難搵工。最後我地選擇brisbane，因為聽人講brisbane個job market唔錯，而且又無sydney咁busy，但又唔似canberra咁靜，so取捨後，我們決定去brisbane。

my little one, 1 yr childcare (2 days a week) cause too expensive and I cannot get much back from gov.

1 year Prep at state school.

我聽澳洲的radio, 知道澳洲每年都有個類似香港全港性評估的考試, 叫做NAPLAN. 原來queensland2007年的成績係全國咁多個states中最差的. 最新一次(2008年)就唔知有無進步了. 我朋友講得好搞笑, 我問佢好唔好爭取改去另一個state, 佢就話: 都唔使做全國第一啫

聽落brisbane的熱似乎還可以接受. 香港呢幾日只不過29-30度, 已熱到我地完全唔想出街.

I think 2008 may be the same la..... NSW acadamic still better then QLD but it more pressure. I always wonder why people go to Sydney, for me if I go to Sydney, i would rather stay in HK.

There is a joke in NSW. QLD is the state with most sunlight and daylight then other state, but we don't have daylight saving. NSW has.

NSW people said queenslander don't pass the daylight saving becasue they worry about the curtain will fade faster due to daylight longer with daylight saving.
This tell you how lovly of Queenslander.

YES YES, Sydney likes HK very much, that why we didn't want to stay in Sydney. I believe so that NSW acadamic is better. When I was in Sydney I found that it already has different tutor schools (just like in hk) to help children to get into famous schools; just like in hk. People will make their children to learn as many things as possible. Since I don't want this happen to my children. I want my children receive their education in a free, peace, and relax environment; that why I choose Brisbane (or maybe somewhere else, like Adelaide).

呢邊夏天就係11點至2點最熱，出街只要搽防曬同唔好企係陽光底下，都無問題ga...一定唔會熱到好似HK甘。
我屋企就有中央冷氣，夏天時，多號夜晚就會開冷氣訓覺，因為囡囡同老公都怕熱。夏天日頭，老公返工，囡囡返學，我一個人係屋企就咩都無開，係食野時開下風扇甘囉。冬天時，就夜晚會開中央暖氣，因為係我自己怕凍。
呢邊其實好多屋都係得廳or房有冷氣，不過，呢邊都幾多自然風，所以都可以接受呢！
你諗住租邊區呀？

呢點又真係要承認，QLD既教育程度真係比較淺。不過，我囡囡返學就好開心，因為完全無壓力。

sunnybank果邊就比較多台灣人，同容易買到唐人野；我自己住呢區，就無咩中國人，全部都係外國人多。所以，囡囡學校都無咩中國人；反而sunnybank果邊d學校就好多中國藉既小朋友。
