if u don't mind waiting/have idle cash, buy gold/platinum at all stages. i buy gold every week, even at USD94x/ounce.

yes. if u want volatility, can buy gold stocks like 2899 or 1818. however, all gold stock current valuation is higher than actual gold price, not worth buying now.

i buy paper gold from BOC/HSBC and platinum from BOC. spread is HKD20/ounce and HKD25/tael. platinum spread is HKD150-200 depending on which time u buy. for long term, buy platinum.

我都想買下金呀, 當月供儲錢, 因為股票市場太動盪了. 昨天問金行買入價是 $9,080/兩, 但銀行就 $8,880, 相差左 $200, 有冇人知點解呢?

以前阿媽年代就興買金條番屋企收埋, 我問左銀行, 可以用存摺, 1 錢 1 錢咁買, 想問下大家意見? 用錢同兩買賣有分別嗎?

the $200 is the spread difference which 金行 gain. this is the major income on their gold, not the 'sau gung' (craftsman) fee.
no difference if buy 1 錢 or 0.1 tael because 10 錢 =1 tael

我睇番呢 2 個月, 這 2 天算是高位, 唔買又怕月中再升. C6 係咁叫我買, 話仲有升, 我又唔識......

yes, buy from bank. u can buy it through internet banking anytime during office hrs. for BOC, can trade 24 hrs except weekend.

these 2 days gold and platinum rose quite a lot. platinum rose abt 6.7%. suggest u to open a BOC a/c to trade platinum too.

i expect gold will rise to USD1200/tael ga, but not short term.

i haven't bot any gold this week yet as the price is higher than all my current lots.

if u r new in buying gold, suggest u to monitor the trend for 1-2 more weeks before dipping in.

all commodities and foreign currencies are very strong, I think there shd be some adjustment as people may take profit.

我玩過一次, 紙黃金在bank 850 入...一入跌到81x...冇d定力都羞d跌c, 等左3個月至升哂去85x..即放, 買金的出入差價大 (我在bank買賣冇手續費), hold住舊錢太耐, 我唔會再入金:tongue: , 升得慢.. (純粹個人感受, 可能我唔識玩)

for me, i never lose money on gold. but agree that movement is slow. if u want some volatility, platinum is a good choice.

買金的出入差價 only HKD25, not as big as stock bank charge.

need to be patient in trading gold. i trade gold every week, can gain a few hundreds every wk min, and sometimes over 1k/wk (together with platinum). Volatility of platinum can be as big as 1k/ounce in a few days (around 9600HKD/ounce).

platinum shd have higher growth when car industry stabilize (we can see china car industry is growing due to subsidy from gvt). but US car industry still struggling. platinum is used in many car parts.

in the past 2 years, platinum px was as high as double the gold price, but now only around 1k HKD difference/ounce.

be prepared to sit for a while (1-2 weeks), not day trade.

HSBC's spread is greater than BOC (seems around hkd3x), BOC is around HKD20 to 25

多謝你叫我留意一段時間先好買, 這星期金價每天都跌小小, 但今天就跌很多, 接近 USD944. 報紙說每當股票跌, 黃金就會變作資金避難所. 近星期股票升, 故金價下跌呢?
