I called Crossroads and other voluntary agencies like St Jacob. sometimes they cannot arrange a truck to come and ask you to wait till they have enough donation offers to make a trip worthwhile (ie. you need extra space to keep both the new and the old sofa until they come), some asked for a fee to share the cost of the truck. Eventually, I donated to a church nearby.
St. Jacob asked for photos and post it on their sites until someone wants them and then they call u.
