my maid has been working for me for 14 months, performance is good. This morning she asked me to lend her 14k saying her father has cancer is now in hospital and need 14K to treat. What should I do?
It doesn't make sense. Firstly, human being can't suddenly have cancer without any signal. Secondly, why does your helper know exactly the amount of hospital expenses???????????????????Do u know what to do now......!!!!!!
We all have kind heart but we don't know whether it is true or not.
Read a number of cases in BK with similar reasons.
Cancer is a long curing disease and need $$ on on-going basis, not just $14k can cure. Perhaps, you can ask your maid how she is going to tackle this and ask her in details what the $14k is for? If she cannot answer, then you know.
$14k is not a small amount (4 months pay) and she is supposed to know what it is used for clearly before spending.
I won't evolve into this kind of financial issue with my maid. One month of salary is fine. Over $10000 is too much. I am just her boss but not the ATM machine.
I eventually lend her 4K, I told her I dun lend or borrow money coz it is very troublesome, but I can help her one time (I am worry that she may treat my daughter badly if this is true). I told her this is only her responsibility but also her siblings and I can only help her that much and she needs to pay me back in three months. sigh! helpers are so troublesome.....
