I wait and wait for her and now she just worked for 2 days and said want to break contract!!!!
Before I hire her, she said she want to take care children becoz she always take care old people for 4 years in singapore.....blah blah blah
Now she said she dont expect take care children is like this, and she want to quit and find another job!
In these 2 days, she work very slow and seems not willing to hand wash things..( I asked her what was her job duties in singapore, she said she need to hand wash clothes and do cleaning despite take care ar gon ar po...but seems not very good at this! thats why I observe her for 2 days and ask her need to do faster, and teach her the way to play with kids, then suddenly she said she want to quit!!!!!!!
So upset!! I wont compensate anything to her including the air ticket, she obviously come to "try" things out!!
Has anyone had this experience before and not paying her anything? thx!

If she wants to break contract, tell her she needs to either give 1 month notice in writing or 1 month wages in lieu of notice. For your protection, have everything on record either with a 3rd party witness or by recording video.
I understand it seems unfair for her to "play" you like this but you need to do things lawfully so she can't file claims against you at labour dept. What you will owe her is her wages up to the last day of employment, travel allowance plus 1 one-way ticket to her hometown. I'm not sure if you need to compensate for her annual leave since she is employed at your home for less than 3 months.
Maybe other members here can correct me if I'm wrong.

When I was looking for a maid I also saw a few that say the same (take care of old people before & now want to take care of baby), luckily I didn't choose them!!
hei ah, hk employer is worse off, you wait for so long and they turn out to be terrible then you have to compensate their return ticket etc. Waste our money & also our time! Not just pay for them to leave, but you need to hire another maid again, even if your agent don't charge you extra fee, you still have to pay for visa and airticket for the new maid!!
