yes ar .......... recently discuss with C6 about what items will be shipped to Toronto!! Our big TV is quite new equipped with separate set of 5.1 sound system and I really don't want to give them up!! Also our leather sofa too!! C6 says that TV generally operates more than 1 hr and long time use Transformer will be dangerous .......... several transformers at the same time for the sound system is more dangerous too ................ so we likely give up our big TV and 5.1 sound system
Is it expensive to ship sofa (3 seat sofa)?? Wondering is it worth to ship it to Toronto??
yes, agreed, even i buy those electronic after i came here in 2003. with the new technology, i could like to get something newer . but the HDTV that bought in 2004 still in good condition, kind of waste to throw them away.... ah.. headache how to treat them...
I have question for "Goods to Follow" list. Is there a time limit for this list?? I mean if the goods listed in the list have to be entered Canada within a certain period of time. Also is there a limit for the number of shipments to ship the goods?? ........... Because I may have to arrange several shipments within 2-3 years!!
to my understanding (at least 10 yrs ago when i first come) they do have the time limited for the goods to follow (within 12 months after you first landed). but no limit of the numbers of shipment. you could arrange more than one shipment to come.
the reason they gave to me is that if you intent to come here for good, you should have all your staff sent in within a year to show your sincerity.
you might have to check the shipping company may be they know if there is any change to the rules.
mabel 1218, your 66 is correct, we shipped our TV and home theater over 10 yrs ago.. with the transformer. and realized once we turn on the home theater system, we spent quite a bit of energy... and due to that, the ampifier got burst (with fire sparkles) after 5 yrs... (but yes, you could said as least we enjoy 5 yrs)... and lucky we are at home and no major damage...
and we bought another 5.1 home theater system during boxing day sales at 99.99 by then and use for 5 yrs as this year.. we spent $250 for another new system...
my 66's principal now is not to spent big money on this electronic stuff as technolgoy change every few year. so we just buy whatever is on slae....and use for 4-5 yrs and get a new replacement.
................ so we likely give up our big TV and 5.1 sound system
