I am going to send my daughter to an approved child care, and would like to apply the Child Child Benfit. However I do not understand the difference between Child Care Benfit and Child Care Rebate. Can anyone help me out???

By the way if my other daughter is attending public school kindergarten, she won't be able to get the Child Care Benefit, right?

My understanding is:
http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/centrelink/child-care-benefit

Child care benefit is upfront discount on fee, is subject to family income limit.

http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/centrelink/child-care-rebate

Child care rebate is 50% out of pocket expenses, refunded quarterly, up to $6k per year per child (I think).
This is not subject to income limit.

Ie. if family income is below limit, you are eligible for both,
if income is above limit, you still get rebate every 3 months.

School age children can claim before and after school care / vacation care.

比d數字你，可能比較易明。假設childcare centre 收費糸$100 一日，你嘅CCB entitlement糸$10，而CCR entirlement 系50%.

childcare 会收你$90 一日。CCR 会糸$45.

你可以选擇直接張CCR 退比childcare or to your bank weekly or fortnight. 以上2种方法FAO 会扣起部份rebate for future settlement. 你亦可选擇CCR to you quarterly, FAO 会calculate the actual CCR n refund to you.

假設你小朋友go two days a week n claim CCR quarterly, then your weekly paymeny to childcare would be $90 × 2 = $180。 your quarterly CCR would be ($180 ×13weeks × 50%) = $1170.

小朋友上左kindy 就冇得claim架喇。
