Medical Roll DirectionsIt is essential to prepare the skin thoroughly prior to PCI Micro-needling. On average, one skin cycle is sufficient to make the changes in the skin necessary to promote healing, improve the resistance of the skin and augment collagen production. The use of the Environ® Ionzyme C-Quence gel and cream is especially recommended for a minimum period of three weeks prior to the treatment. Longer preparation periods are associated with faster healing and better results.
The procedure:
1) Immediately before treatment, your patient must remove all make-up or cosmetic creams and wash skin thoroughly (a PH balanced soap is highly recommended for this purpose). Take photographs of the skin to be treated for comparison purposes.
2) Cover the skin with a topical anaesthetic cream.
3) Cover with cling film, leaving the nostrils exposed. Wait for the stipulated time period for the anesthesia to take effect and allow your patient to relax during this period, taking care not to disturb the area to be treated. If applied correctly, the procedure will be pain-free. If a patient has a particularly low pain threshold or exhibits a high degree of anxiety, however, an analgesic or tranquiliser may also be indicated for use in conjunction with the topical anaesthetic.
4) Once anaesthesia has developed, proceed with the needling. Some patients may be aware of a minute degree of sensation. Treat each segment of the face, neck or body sequentially. Sensation may return after five minutes after which time the next segment may be treated.
5) On completion of the PCI Micro-needling, wash the skin (Environ® Sebuwash is recommended) and apply the applicable Environ® product (or other medically approved skin-product with high vitamin A, C and anti-oxidant contents) to the treated area. A degree of redness (similar to the visible results of moderate sun exposure) can be expected immediately following treatment, this will typically subside within 24 hours, and the patient may return to work or social activities.
TREATMENT CYCLE
For best results, a series of six PCI Micro-needling sessions should be done at intervals ranging between one week and one month, depending on the degree of improvement that is required. The maintainance of a regular and medically approved skin care regime over time, and particularly prior to and during the PCI Micro-needling treatment cycle is essential.
Step 1. CleaningCleanse the skin well with a cleansingproduct that’s proper to your skin type. Before every rolling rinse theroller head under hot running water.
Step 2. Anesthetic (I DID NOT USE)
Apply a cream for local anesthesia ontothe concerned area and leave it for about 15-20 minutes before remoingit. Wipe the excess cream off before rolling the skin. It’s extremelyimportant to read the users manual and warings of the numbing creambefore using it.
Step 3. RollingChoose a roller that fits the purposeof the treatment. Pull the skin a little tight with the hand notholding the roller. With the other hand, start rolling the roller inone direction from left to right, top to bottom, and diagonallydistributing uniform force as seen on the picture below. Be careful notto impose too much needle pressure in the direction. Especially, youmust avoid imposing excessive stimulation on the eye area andcheekbones.
Step 4. SolutionApply the product containing theingredients that will serve the treatment purposes evenly on thetreated area. The micro-channels created by needling will deliver theingredients deep into the skin.
Step 5. Moisturizing & SoothingApply a soothing and moisturaizingproduct or facial mask on the stimulated, red area. We recommendproducts that preferably contain Vitamin A and C.
Step 6. After careAfter every use simply rinse the rollerhead under hot running water. It is important to keep treated area outof the sun in the first week after treatment. A SPF30+ sunscreen isrecommended, along with collagen-enriching creams that are fortifiedwith Vitamins A and C.
Should the skin feel sensitive after a treatment, it is advised not touse the roller again until the skin feels comfortable. The tiny holesformed from the use of the treatment, in the horny layer seal naturallywithin a day. Should you suffer from a skin rash or irritation as aresult of using the product, cease to use the product and pleaseconsult a skin care professional or medical doctor.
Skin needling is not suitable for use on the following skin conditionsIt is not recommended for those withactive infections, chronic skin disorders, blood clotting problems,poor healing or skin malignancies, active acne, eczema, rosacea,psoriasis, severe solar keratosis and raised moles or warts.
