想換電腦

我想砌過部電腦, 主要用o黎上網, 視象通話, DV Edit.
有冇人可以提供個spec比我參考o下, 最好請建議埋各樣牌子!

1) CPU: Intel P4 2.0GHz or high for DV editing
2) Motherboard: Asus or 2the max with on-board IEEE1394 or i.link ports ("Asus" or "2the max" is better compatibility with other hardwares, e.g. RAM, hardisk, PCI cards, AGP card)
3) RAM: 1GB PC3200 prefer (any brand)
4) AGP: 8x (any brand)
5) 80G SATA hard disk or higher (any brand)
6) DVD+/-RW 8x for burning DVD (any brand)
7) DVD-ROM 16X (any brand)
8) 3.5" floopy disk drive (any brand)
9) Tower case with power supply (any brand)

The above recommendation is good. Here is my opinion:
1) CPU: Intel P4 2.4C GHz or high for DV editing

Athon is cheap but hot in temperature.

2) Motherboard: Asus or ECS Group with on-board

Asus -- good brand name in HK
ECS Group -- good brand name in Taiwan (cheaper and high sales volume all over the world)

Chipset: I865PE / I875PE / SIS648?? for P4 CPU.

4) AGP: 8x (any brand)
high profile chip set: Geforce FX5900
Radeon 9800

medium profile chip set: Geforce FX5700
Radeon 9600

low profile chip set: Geforce FX5500
Radeon 9200

5) 80G SATA hard disk or higher (any brand)
seagate: cheap and popular
maxtor: cheap
Hitachi (= IBM): less cheap, faster 10%

Better performance for 8MB buffer built in. Most cheap harddisk built in 2MB buffer;
ATA100 performance is similar to ATA133;
Serial ATA performance is 10% faster but less cheap.

6) DVD+/-RW 8x for burning DVD (any brand)
7) DVD-ROM 16X (any brand)
may be ignored because DVD/RW can play this.
However, if you want to read previous version CD, you need to buy CD-rom which can read 'copied' CD!
Play PC games. Then, buy CD-ROM.

8) 3.5" floopy disk drive
no need because you can detach from old PC.
9) Tower case with power supply
in shop, the price of some tower cases did not include power supply. you need to buy power supply separately. GTR is good and cheap. You need to buy 300Watt.

Check any built-in LAN port for BroadBand.

At last, if you buy parts and integrate them into a PC, then you pay less. If you put order and ask the shop to integrate, then the price is higher.

When you go to ShamShuiPoo shop, please specify that you integrate by yourself or not. They give you different price.
